Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 October 2026. HoopLife NBA is run by an individual, not a company. This page explains what the site stores and why.

What we collect

• Account details. If you create an account we store your username, email address and a hashed password. The password itself is never stored.
• Things you save. Your watchlist, notes, saved mock drafts, over/under picks, trivia streak, display preferences and any invite code you redeem.
• Sessions. A random sign-in token so you stay logged in. It is stored as a hash on our side and in a secure, HttpOnly cookie in your browser.
• Where you came from. On your first visit we keep a cookie with the link or website that sent you (for example a campaign tag or "reddit.com") for 60 days. If you sign up, that label is saved with your account so we can see which channels bring people in. It never contains anything about you personally.
• Daily game. Your Mystery Player guesses and stats stay in your browser's local storage; we do not store them.
• Analytics and advertising measurement. If you accept cookies, Google Analytics and Google Ads record anonymous usage: pages visited, device type, which advert or link brought you here and whether you created an account. If you decline, no analytics or advertising cookies are set.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not send marketing email. The only emails are ones you ask for, such as a password reset.
• We do not take payments, so no card details exist.

Third parties

Player statistics come from ESPN's public endpoints. The app is hosted on Railway and the database on Neon. Cloudflare provides the domain and the sign-up bot check (Turnstile), and password-reset email is sent through Resend. Analytics and advertising measurement, when accepted, are Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads.

Your choices

You can change or delete your account at any time from Account; deleting removes your account, watchlist, saved drafts, picks and sessions. You can change your cookie choice by clearing this site's data in your browser.
